Ain't Gonna Allow No 'Crap' in My Courtroom - Louisiana Judge

La. Judge Suspended 30 Days Over Remarks at Domestic Abuse Hearing

A Louisiana judge was suspended for comments he made at a hearing in which a woman was seeking a temporary restraining order against her husband. The judge referred to the woman's petition as "crap."

The Judiciary Commission of Louisiana suspended Judge Timothy Ellender for 30 days without pay and fined him $185, suspended.

Ellender asked the couple at the hearing, which was recorded on audiotape, why they didn't just divorce rather than "go through this crap." He then told them they should file for divorce and told them how to do it without an attorney. He denied the TRO, and the woman later filed a complaint.

Ellender told the disciplinary committee he was “short, curt, discourteous, impatient and dismissive,” but he defended his conduct, said the couple deserved it for being so stupid and that it was not a violation of any rule of conduct he followed.

Ellender was also suspended without pay in 2004 after attending a Halloween party in blackface and a prison jumpsuit. He reportedly said at the time that it was just a joke at a Halloween party and some hypersensitive colored people took it the wrong way.

The judge has been rumored to be a member of the local KKK and a member of WON, an all male organization opposed to NOW, the National Organization of Women, but no evidence has ever been uncovered which would substantiate these rumors and in all likelihood they are false.

Man OD's On Chocolate

A 29-year-old man died after falling into a vat of molten chocolate.

Vincent Smith II was with three workers dumping chunks of chocolate into the simmering liquid when he somehow lost his balance and fell in.

One of his co-workers, who went in after him, is shown outside the factory in Camden, New Jersey, his clothes covered in chocolate. All workers at the plant are charged for any chocolate they eat or take home. It was not immediately clear if this policy would be enforced against the co-worker.

His co-worker inside the vat had died by the time emergency services arrived at the scene ten minutes later.

Jason Laughlin, spokesman for the Camden County Prosecutor's Office, said an investigation has been launched into the incident.

"He somehow slipped and fell into the vat," he said, making short work of the investigation.

"Inside the vat, he was hit by a piece of equipment called the agitator that's used to stir, and that killed him."

Mr Laughlin said the vat at the Cocoa Services Inc plant was around 8 ft deep. The dead man was only 5'10".

"At this point there's no suggestion of foul play," he added. "It appears to be an accident.

"This man unfortunately fell into this vat of chocolate and died before anyone could rescue him."

Cocoa Services employs another company - Lyons and Sons - to do the mixing at the factory. A company spokesman said the entire vat of chocolate, worth about $10,000, would have to be discarded because the dead worker was wearing shoes that were dirty and probably covered with germs. "It's just too risky to try to salvage it," he said.

New Mexico Police Chief Blasts Hole in Teen-Aged Girl's Head With Taser

New Mexico Girl Tasered In The Head By Police Chief

The use of tasers by law enforcement is becoming increasingly controversial as more examples emerge of them being used improperly and causing victims serious harm. This New Mexico teen was arguing with her mother, so her mother brought her to a police station to get help (it's unclear what kind of argument they could have been having that would warrant police intervention).

The girl ran off and the police chief chased her and ordered her to stop. When she didn't, he tasered her in the head. The giant scar and stitches in the teen's head show the tasering was terribly brutal, and it's difficult to see how this could in any way be justified.

Man Carries Dead Pony Around in Car - Fierce Odor Arouses Suspicion

Pony Before Being Dead

Car has strange cargo - Man driving around with dead pony

It’s all in a day’s work, for a Gilmer policeman.

Police Sgt. Albert Cabrera responded on Sunday to a call to a local store parking lot about suspicious activity. Someone had reported a man carrying around a dead pony in his car.

Sgt. Cabrera located a vehicle with a suspicious odor coming from it.

“I looked in the vehicle and saw what looked to be an animal in the vehicle, wrapped up in blankets with the tail sticking out,” Sgt. Cabrera wrote in his report.

He found out who the car belonged to. It was an employee of the meat and produce department in the store. He went into the store and found the employee.

“I asked (the man) what did he have in his vehicle,” Cabrera wrote, “and he replied a dead Shetland pony.

“I then asked him how long had he had his pony in the vehicle and he stated for a day,” the sergeant said. “Then I asked him what did he plan to do with the pony, and he said he was trying to find a good place to lay it to rest. I then advised him that he needed to dispose of the pony as soon as possible, and he stated that he would do it on his lunch break.”

The man then punched out for lunch and went to dispose of the pony.

High School Cheerleader Robs Disabled Youth Who Was Raising Money for Charity

Cheerleader stole $187 from wheelchair-bound Georgia boy

JULY 8--A popular teenage cheerleader stole $187 from a wheelchair-bound boy who had earned the money selling t-shirts for a charity, police charge. Chelsea Steele, 17, shown above, was arrested last Friday, a few hours after she allegedly robbed Joseph Green at a Marietta, Georgia community pool house where Green was "selling t-shirts and hats...for charity," according to a criminal warrant.

Steele, who attends Sprayberry High School, is listed as a member of the school's varsity cheerleading squad in a roster available for downloading from the school's web site (though it appears that her name was scrubbed elsewhere from the site following her July 3 bust). Steele is facing a felony robbery count (she was also hit with an underage alcohol possession rap). Police are investigating whether Steele had accomplices, since she was spotted fleeing the pool house in the company of a friend, with whom she departed the area in a Ford Taurus.

Steele declined to make any statement other than to say she needed the money "more than that crippled dude. He can always peddle some more t-shirts but I needed that money immediately."

A police spokesperson declined to comment, saying, "there went Steele's cheerleading career. She'll be lucky to get into a community college, now."

Hundreds of generous individuals and families called, offering to donate money to help the Steele family relocate to another state, preferably in the far West, so Chelsea Steele can go there when she is released from prison.

Cops: Colorado woman, 45, had sex with underage fellow "Furry"

JULY 2, 2009

--A Colorado woman allegedly had a sexual relationship with a teenage boy with whom she was part of "a social group known as 'Furries' who dress up like animals," police charge. Richael Michels, 45, began the illicit relationship with the boy after her daughter broke up with him earlier this year, according to the below arrest warrant affidavit. Michels's husband told investigators that his wife got the teenager involved in the "furrie lifestyle." A witness whose name was redacted from the affidavit told police that he met Michels and the boy at a Furries gathering in March and subsequently saw the pair engaged in sexual contact.

The 20-year-old witness, who said Michels confided in him details of her sexual relationship with the boy, once sent Michels a text message chastising her about the encounters: "...it's because you've been having sex with him that we can't have that going on at the furmeet." When confronted last week by Fort Collins cops, Michels denied having sexual intercourse with the teenager, but acknowledged once giving him a "hand job" while "intimately kissing" the boy. When asked by police what animal role she assumed for the furmeets, she said she came as a "Pussy."

The teenager told police that he had frequently had sex with Michels in her car "in and around Fort Collins." Michels, who is facing seven felony counts, is being held in the Larimer County jail in lieu of $35,000 bail.

So Many Corpses, So Few Places to Store Them: See Rent-a-Casket

Oklahoma couple held in burial, excavation of girl

By LEN IWANSKI - Associated Press - 07/08/09

AP photo - This undated photo released by the Hill County Sheriff shows Denise Wolf, the mother of the corpse.

An Oklahoma couple has been arrested in Montana for investigation of burying a young girl then digging up her remains and moving the body from state to state for more than a year, authorities said Tuesday.

Abel Wolf, 35, and Denise Wolf, 40, were being held without bail in the Hill County jail in Havre after being charged in Oklahoma with unlawful removal of a body, Hill County Attorney Gina Dahl said .

The suspects are scheduled for a court appearance on Wednesday.

An autopsy will be done to determine the cause of death and whether the remains are those of Abel Wolf’s 11-year-old daughter Cheyenne, said Jessica Brown, a spokeswoman for the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation.

Abel and Denise Wolf were arrested Thursday near Rocky Boy’s Indian Reservation southwest of Havre. The arrests were first reported by the Havre Daily News.

Sharon Skyberg, a booking official at the Hill County jail, didn’t know if the Wolfs had retained a lawyer. Dahl said the defendants likely will be appointed a public defender by the court if they haven’t retained one privately.

Brown told The Associated Press that relatives had reported to Oklahoma police that Cheyenne Wolf was missing when her father and stepmother Denise moved to Montana and Oregon.

The investigation led police to discover the remains in a storage unit in the Milton-Freewater area of Oregon.

An affidavit filed by OSBI investigator David Houston said Abel Wolf told Houston the family was upset with Cheyenne in April 2008 because she would not eat dinner one night.

While Abel was outside smoking, he heard a thump but said Cheyenne seemed fine, the affidavit said.

She was found dead the next day, according to the document.

“Abel Wolf put Cheyenne Wolf’s body in a sleeping bag and then put her body into a large plastic tub,” the affidavit said.

That tub was then stored in a shed, buried under the deck and moved with the family in August 2008 to Havre, it said.

When Cheyenne’s sister ran away in January and was placed in a hospital, the couple began to worry that word would get out about Cheyenne, so they moved her remains to a chicken coop on property owned by Denise Wolf’s brother in Oregon, the affidavit said.

Denise Wolf later moved Cheyenne’s body to a storage building in the Milton-Freewater, Ore., area, Houston said in his affidavit.

In court, the suspects will be given an opportunity to waive extradition, voluntarily surrender to Oklahoma law officers and be returned to that state for prosecution.

Otherwise, Oklahoma will seek to have the defendants extradited to that state, Dahl said.
