Rage, Rage Against the McNugget

JANUARY 4--

Ohio woman enraged by lack of McNuggets

Meet Melodi Dushane. Angered that Chicken McNuggets were not available at an Ohio McDonald's, the Toledo woman allegedly put her fist through the eatery's drive-thru window. The January 1 McNuggets rage incident resulted in Dushane, 24, being arrested for felony vandalism and booked into the Lucas County jail, where her mug shot was snapped.

According to a Toledo Police Department report, Dushane pulled up to the drive-thru window Friday at 6:20 AM and ordered "Chicken McNuggets and other dinner items." When informed that McDonald's stopped serving dinner selections at 2:30 AM, Dushane began arguing with employee Melissa Vasquez. At one point, Dushane "leaned out of her car, into the window, and punched Melissa in her mouth," cops reported.

When night manager Tia Walker appeared at the window, Dushane took a swing at her, prompting a tussle. When the women separated, Dushane "then punched the drive through window, breaking it" and sending glass flying everywhere. Dushane, next due in court on January 28, has been ordered to stay away from the fast food outlet.

Last March, a Florida woman was arrested after she called 911 three times to complain that a McDonald's was out of Chicken McNuggets. "This is an emergency. If I would have known they didn't have McNuggets, I wouldn't have given my money, and now she wants to give me a McDouble, but I don't want one," Latreasa Goodman told a police operator.

A spokesman for McDonalds, who was not authorized to speak, said nothing.

A Haven For Battered Women In Alabama?

Women protected by special local ordinance in Alabama

Jasper, Alabama
Jan. 3, 2010

The women's movement, displaying its power and success, has penetrated into the smallest hamlets, nooks and crannies of the U.S. A small town in Alabama is a prime example.

Jasper, Alabama, now a town of more than 15,000 people, was once a thriving coal community of world importance. Because business men from around the globe were frequent visitors to Jasper, and state political leaders were often found there. Jasper was a cosmopolitan town that was impacted by international customs and fashions that made it a very progresive community, with modern ideas.

This is still evident today, even though Jasper's claims to international importance have faded over time with the demise of coal. An early advocate for women's rights, Jasper passed a municipal ordinance making it unlawful for a man to beat his wife with a stick larger in diameter than his thumb.

An unexpected result of the law is that, per capita, Jasper has the largest percentage of men without thumbs or with tiny thumbs of any town in the U.S. One in every five Jasper men either has no thumbs or have tiny thumbs, some no larger than a switch. Some of these men have acquired therapeutic devices that can be used as thumbs but these are very inferior to real thumbs, and cannot be used to circumvent the law. Another curious result is that one in seven Jasper men have never hitch-hiked.

Police: Driver passes out, with meth lab in back seat

Jan 02 2010

"What, me worry?" >>>>

MURFREESBORO, Tenn.— Police say a driver passed out in his car at a Tennessee gas station while a batch of methamphetamine was cooking in the back seat.

An employee at the gas station in Murfreesboro, about 30 miles southeast of Nashville, called police because the car was sitting at the pump for about an hour on New Year's Day.

Police say a chemical process to make the drug was in progress. Some meth-making ingredients can be explosive.

Murfreesboro Assistant Fire Chief Allen Swader told The Daily News Journal that gas pumps were shut off as a precaution.

Thirty-one-year-old Nathan E. Beasley is being held on a $15,000 bond on charges of driving under the influence, driving on a suspended license, reckless endangerment and manufacturing meth. No attorney was listed in police records.

S. BRADY CALHOUN / News Herald Writer

PANAMA CITY - A 23-year-old man was punched in the face by his 18-year-old girlfriend moments after they finished having “weird” sex according to a report from the Bay County Sheriff’s Office.

The man told deputies that the couple had just finished when his girlfriend told him “she wouldn’t be having sex with him again.” She also told him to leave. He said he asked her why and she flipped out and threw a phone at him as he was leaving. When he turned around and started to walk back inside the home to get his DVDs, she bloodied his nose with a punch in the face.

The woman told deputies that she was upset with the man because he acted “weird” when they were having sex. When the deputies pressed for an explanation, she told them he called her names and pulled her hair. She added that when she told him that was it and they weren’t having sex again that he pushed her and tried to pour a beer on her. To defend herself she slapped him in the face, she said.

The man eventually told deputies that he did not want to press charges and the case was closed.

Copycat 911 Caller Fakes Injuries to Get Cops To Come Get Him, Gets Arrested

Man lies to officials about being shot

ALANA LISTOE Independent Record
Helena, MT December 25, 2009

An intoxicated Townsend man is being charged for numerous offenses, including lying to officials about being shot.

Officials responded to a 911 call about an apparent shooting Tuesday night. A female caller said Von Nicholas Stevens, 39, was headed to St. Peter’s Hospital with a gunshot wound, Broadwater County Sgt. Nick Korthals said.

Korthals said he informed members of the Helena Police Department, Lewis and Clark County Sheriff’s Department, and hospital personnel who were on hand waiting at the emergency room. Stevens never arrived at the hospital.

Korthals then contacted Stevens by phone. He said he’d run out of gas near Lakeside and was shot and in pain. Stevens told the alleged victim to stay where he was and someone would be out to get him.

Medical personnel arrived on the scene and found a small scratch on Stevens’ ear and some dried blood, but no sign of a gunshot wound.

Korthals said he had several deputies interview people who had been with Stevens at some point throughout the night, but no one mentioned shots being fired. Stevens accused a man of shooting him. But that man can be seen on video surveillance cameras at a local Helena sports bar during the time of the alleged shooting, Korthals said.

“Mr. Stevens continued to change his story,” Korthals said.

Stevens was charged with driving with a suspended license and is scheduled to appear in court on Monday. Korthals said more charges are pending and he anticipates citing Stevens for obstructing justice and false reporting, but the investigation is ongoing.

Colorado Racist Likens Obama to Bootblack for Alaskan Queen of White Sarah Palin

DENVER (AP) -- A Colorado state employee could be disciplined for sending an e-mail showing President Barack Obama shining the shoes of former Republican vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin.

The 73-year-old Colorado Department of Transportation worker forwarded the e-mail to at least four co-workers and others on Dec. 22 using her state e-mail account. One of the recipients outside the agency complained.

The original sender of the e-mail, who isn't a state employee, wrote "It appears he (Obama) has found his niche."

CDOT spokeswoman Mindy Crane says the worker could face discipline ranging from a written reprimand to suspension. Employment rules require that she meet with personnel officials first and have a chance to respond in writing. That meeting is scheduled for next week.
