Man arrested for landscaping with cannabis

"Yard of the Month" Attempt is No Defense

11 Oct 2010

ST. CLOUD, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - Agents with the Osceola County Investigative Bureau in Osceola County, Florida responded to a residence in St. Cloud in reference to suspected marijuana plants growing in front of the house.

Upon arrival, agents observed the plants growing in planters in front of the residence. These plants could easily be seen from the roadway with an unobstructed view of the residence, according to the agents who obtained permission from the homeowner, Bryan Hartman, to search the property.

They discovered 17 plants ranging from 2 feet tall to 7 feet tall. Hartman was arrested and charged with Cultivation of Cannabis. Hartman, 45, was booked into the Osceola County Jail.

Devastating Loss Suffured By Florida Voyeur

Fla. man to get $650,000 for strip club injury

AP Friday, October 15, 2010

A South Florida attorney says his client will get $650,000 after a dancer's platform shoe shattered his eye socket at a strip club.

Attorney Lake Lytal III says the Cheetah club's insurance company agreed earlier this month to pay Michael Ireland for the injury. Lytal says Ireland has had eye problems since the 2008 incident at the West Palm Beach club.

He says the dancer claimed in a deposition she was walking on the bar, felt someone touch her and swung around. Lytal says her metal heel went into Ireland's eye socket and shattered it, requiring extensive surgery.

The Cheetah club wouldn't comment. The insurance company didn't immediately return a phone message. The patron left an obscene call on the reporter's voice mail.

Several patrons of the club said shattered eye sockets were commonplace at the club. "If you are going to stare up at a barely covered woman's crotch and someone else illegally touches her, you can expect a steel-toed heel in your eye," said one of the patrons Allen Hookerstein, on condition of anonymity from his wife, Amy Hookerstein, who didn't know he went to strip clubs, until now.

It was not immediately clear how the dancer's steel capped heel missed the patron's mouth, instead striking the much smaller eye socket.

Six Billion Euro Swiss Tunnel To Serve As One Stage of French Bicycle Race

Oct. 15, 2010

Tunnel under Swiss Alps to become a stage of the famed Tour de France bicycle race

Basel, Switzerland

After 15 grueling years, the loss of several lives, the disappearance of several nations, and the expenditure of more than six billion Euros, not counting taxes and gratuities, engineers rejoiced when a giant drilling machine cut through the final, mammoth slab of rock separating Switzerland from: Germany, Austria, Italy or maybe just East Switzerland.

When work on the tunnel first began, in 1995, George W. Bush had not yet been picked by the U.S.Supreme Court to take the place of the true winner of the 2000 U.S. presidential election, Al Gore. Mr. Gore, thoroughly demoralized by the perverted decision, visited a massage therapist in Washington state and caused quite a ruckus.

The tunnel, which will not be opened for public use until 2017, was started by a small group of miners using ordinary pick axes and an occasional stick of dynamite. After 3 years of onerous toil the mine shaft had only advanced by 30 millimeters, about one foot. At that rate it would have taken 105,000 years to complete the tunnel. A proposal to triple the work force would only have reduced the time to 35,000 years and was abandoned as impractical. It only took 800 years to build the French cathedral at Chartres, for Chrisake.

The project was abandoned until the invention and construction of a giant drilling machine, capable of doing the work of an army of miners, who only would have been stepping on each other, in 2008. A prototype of the giant drill, which cost $1.3 billion Euros, was shipped to Switzerland in September, 2008. It shortened the time of construction of the tunnel from 105,000 years to a little more than 24 months, a substantial time saving.

World's Shortest Man - Just Over 24 Inches

Tiny, 18 year-old Nepalese man is shortest in world

Oct. 13, 2010

The world's shortest man, Thapa Magar, requested for his birthday that the world be adjusted to fit him. It was estimated by a team of accountants and economists that the total cost of retro-fitting the world would be approximately $468,775,850,647,585,203.00, and would require 100 years to complete. Ninety two of the world's largest nations said they would refuse to make the adjustments and pointed out that it would be cheaper to build Mr. Magar his own personal miniature world but stopped short of offering to help with the financing of the tiny world. Mr. Magar told reporters he did not want his own world but wanted to travel to Rome, Paris, New York and Hollywood and planned to marry a tall Swedish model.

Magar is shown above with an unidentified woman and with his father, Rup Magar, who is explaining that the world has refused his request. Thapa was almost killed several years ago when his father, Rup, barely missed stepping on him in the dark. Since then he has worn a small, blinking red light at night.

Leave It To the Brits: Leaders in Every Field.....

A mat used by people having sex in a field adjacent to the lay-by on the A31 next to the village of Puttenham. Welcomed voyeurs abound in the adjacent shrubbery

By SARAH LYALL
October 7, 2010

PUTTENHAM, England — There was the man they called “Bob the Builder,” who wore only a hard hat. There was the naked sunbather who remarked, “Nice day for it, isn’t it?” to a woman taking a walk. And there was the moment, Jules Perkins said, when the dizzying array of sexual forces that have somehow descended on her blameless Surrey village came together all at once, like a scene from a one-size-fits-all X-rated film.

Jules Perkins and Lydia Paterson, local residents spoke about the public's use of the field, for "dogging" or cruising for sex.

“There were two blokes sitting side by side, watching a man and a woman having sex,” Ms. Perkins said, describing what happened as she strolled with her dog on the hill between her house and the Hog’s Back ridge. “Nearby, there were two men sunbathing together, wearing nothing but tight little white underpants.”

Later, she found a pink vibrator in the bushes.

“I gave it to the police,” she said. “They said, ‘What should we do with it?’ I said, ‘Put it in Lost Property.’ ”

Puttenham, about an hour’s drive from London, has fewer than 2,500 residents and is famous for its ancient church; its friendly pub, the Good Intent; and its proud inclusion in both the Domesday Book — an 11th-century survey of English lands — and “Brave New World.”

Unhappily for many people here, it is also famous for being featured on lists of good places to go “dogging” — that is, to have sex in public, sometimes with partners you have just met online, so that others can watch. So popular is the woodsy field below the ridge as a spot for gay sex (mostly during the day) and heterosexual sex (mostly at night) that the police have designated it a “public sex environment.”

Public sex is a popular — and quasi-legal — activity in Britain, according to the authorities and to the large number of Web sites that promote it. (It is treated as a crime only if someone witnesses it, is offended and is willing to make a formal complaint.) And the police tend to tread lightly in public sex environments, in part because of the bitter legacy of the time when gay sex was illegal and closeted men having anonymous sex in places like public bathrooms were routinely arrested and humiliated.

Enthusiasts’ Web sites alert practitioners to known dogging locations — more than 100 in Surrey alone — and offer handy etiquette tips for the confused or overly excited.

“Only join in or move closer if you are asked,” advises one site, Swinging Heaven, which says it has more than one million registered members.

Richard Byrne, a senior lecturer in countryside management at Harper Adams University College in Shropshire, said that modern technology has made dogging much more convenient than it used to be, thanks to search engines, Facebook groups and people tweeting about their experiences. “And of course, everybody’s got mobiles,” he said.

Swinging Heaven says that the practice began in Britain in the 1970s, and that the term comes from the phenomenon of voyeurs “doggedly” following people having sex. Others say that practitioners claim to be “walking the dog” when they are, in fact, going out to meet naked strangers in fields.

Britons are a tolerant bunch, and most probably would not care who watched whom doing what in whatever configuration, as long as they all went somewhere else. Why, Puttenham residents wonder, do they have to do it 400 yards from the village nursery school?”

“We have nothing against gays or whoever it is up there,” said Lydia Paterson, who lives here. “It’s just the principle of, ‘What on earth is going on?’ ”

A stroll through the field the other day unearthed no doggers (it was raining) but revealed much evidence of their existence. Debris — used condoms, things made of rubber, pages torn from pornographic magazines, snack wrappers, discarded tea cups — littered the area. The paths were dotted with black mats that people had conveniently left behind for the next time.

Residents have been pressing the authorities to do something, arguing that the government should simply close the rest stop that provides access to the offending field, just off the busy A31 road. That way, people hoping to have sex would have nowhere to park.

But local government officials refused, saying closing it would unfairly penalize motorists who genuinely wanted just to rest and would deprive the owner of the Hog’s Back cafe, also at the rest stop, of his livelihood.

Alternative suggestions, discussed at a recent meeting of the Surrey County Council Cabinet, included deploying rangers to patrol the site on horseback; encouraging hikers to roust doggers with actual dogs; and filling the field with potentially bad-tempered bulls.

“It was like, ‘Are you taking this seriously?’ ” Ms. Paterson said. “One cabinet member said, ‘If you close this site, there could be an increase in suicides because these people have nowhere else to go.’ ”

Some older residents sympathize with the council. “Honestly, it’s been going on for so many years,” said Jennifer Debenham, 71, a customer at the Good Intent.

Referring to a nearby village, an elderly man at the bar piped up, “At Wisley, there are two sites, one for males and one for heteros.”

Mrs. Debenham said, “I think we should just let them get on with it.”

The man added, “If you want to find out more, just put ‘dogging’ into your search engine.”

Meanwhile, frazzled residents trade tales of woe: The half-dressed men who materialize from the shrubbery and theatrically pretend to be foraging for nuts and berries. The Internet reviews (“One site listed us as the No. 2 dogging site in Europe,” Ms. Perkins said wearily). The occasion when an unsuspecting motorist went for a bathroom break in the bushes, only to be surrounded by a crowd of eager men.

“It was the quickest pee he’d ever done in his life,” Ms. Paterson said.

The council has agreed to institute an “active management plan” that might include cutting down some shrubbery and putting in security patrols. And the police recently put up a sign warning people not to engage in “activities of an unacceptable nature.”

“There was a lot of debate over the wording for that sign,” Ms. Paterson said. “I guess they didn’t want to say, ‘Don’t have sex.’ ”

Redneck Judge Sends Lawyer to Jail For Refusing to Recite the Pledge of Allegiance

Miss. judge jails attorney for not reciting pledge

TUPELO, Miss. (AP) — A Mississippi judge sent a lawyer to jail for several hours for his refusal to say the pledge of allegiance in open court. The Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal reported that Chancery Judge Talmadge Littlejohn told a court audience to rise and say the pledge. People in the courtroom said Danny Lampley of Oxford stood but did not say the words.

Records show Lampley was booked into the Lee County jail at 9:40 a.m. and released about 2:30 p.m. on the judge's orders.

Lampley did not immediately return a call to The Associated Press. Littlejohn was not immediately available through his office in New Albany or the court administrator's office in Tupelo.

A spokesman for no one in particular said Judge Littlejohn was a fool who consistently abused his authority and was a disgrace to the Mississippi judiciary. Judge Littlejohn denied the allegations, calling them "a lot of poppycock."

Deranged Man Steals Ambulance With Friend Inside Being Attended By Paramedics

Ambulance stolen while paramedics treat patient inside

Oct 11 2010

CHICAGO — Bond was set at $50,000 for a 27-year-old Chicago man accused of stealing an ambulance over the weekend while two paramedics treated someone he apparently knew in the back. Chicago Fire Department spokesman Larry Langford said Jimmy McCoy jumped into the stopped ambulance and drove off with the emergency lights on.

The paramedics then radioed that their ambulance had been stolen with them inside.

Prosecutors said at a hearing Sunday McCoy seemed to think he was driving his diabetic friend to the hospital.

In the Saturday incident, McCoy only made it a few blocks before a fire truck blocked the road. Police surrounded the ambulance and McCoy was arrested.

It was not immediately clear if McCoy had an attorney. It was not immediately clear if McCoy had a psychiatrist either.

There was no telephone listing for a Jimmy McCoy at a home address provided by authorities. In fact it was not clear if the cops had arrested the right man.
