Man killed over Florida pork chop. Dec. 2012
Sheila Carroll, Dallas Top News Examiner
At 10:27 p.m. Tuesday, police
responded to a 911 emergency call of a reported shooting at a home on
May Avenue. When police arrived at the home, they found 35-year-old
Robert Eugene Gray, Jr. deceased from apparent gunshot wounds to the
head.
A witness reported that shortly after Gray arrived home on Tuesday intoxicated, he and 55-year-old Thomas Matthew Hahn Jr., who was in the kitchen cooking, began arguing over how to cook pork chops. Immediately after the argument Hahn went to his bedroom to retrieve a rifle. He then walked into the living room and fired three rounds, two of which struck Gray in the head.
Thomas Mathew Hahn Jr. was arrested and charged with second-degree murder and is being held without bond.
Gray, Hahn and two other men share the May Avenue home in Holly Hill, Florida .
The men’s other two roommates told police that no apparent struggle occurred between Gray and Hahn immediately before the shooting. The roommates did make claims of previous physical violence between the two men.
A police report indicated that Hahn had previously told his other two roommates that if Gray came home drunk again that he would shoot him. It was also reported that Hahn then loaded his rifle with three bullets and said, “That should be enough.”
Hahn has denied the murder charge and stated that he was acting in self-defense.
Police believe that alcohol played a role in the shooting death of Gray. No kidding?
