Couple Convicted For Fornicating in Home Depot Tool Shed

SEPTEMBER 25---The South Carolina couple arrested last month for having sex inside a display shed at Home Depot has been convicted for their public tryst, though only one of them will be serving jail time, according to court records.

Former S.C. beauty queen Emily Craig, 20, and world class sprinter Shaun Bowden, 32, were collared August 28 after they were discovered consorting around 8:40 AM at the store in North Charleston.

During a Municipal Court hearing last Thursday, Craig pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct and providing a false name to police. She was sentenced to time served, the 22 days she spent in custody following her arrest.  She told the judge during sentencing that she and Bowden wanted to make a beautiful female sprinter.

Bowden, who did not show up in court, was tried in absentia and found guilty of disorderly conduct and indecent exposure. The latter charge stemmed from a cop’s observation that Bowden’s “penis was exposed” when he was first spotted by police.

Bowden was sentenced to concurrent 30-day jail sentences on each misdemeanor count. Additionally, a judge revoked Bowden’s $400 bond and issued a bench warrant for his immediate arrest.

As detailed in a North Charleston Police Department report, officers were dispatched to the Home Depot “in reference to an male and female entering a display shed on the property, closing the door behind themselves and remaining inside.”

During a shed-by-shed inspection, cops located the couple, who are seen in the above mug shots. Craig was “partially clothed; the top of her dress was untied, hanging at her waist,” police noted. Bowden was shirtless and “had his pants down near his knees; his penis was exposed,” according to the police report. No mention was made whether or not Bowden had an erection.

Bowden and Craig were then detained and questioned by officers, who observed that it “became apparent that they were engaged in sexual intercourse within the shed.”

Police and court records do not indicate why the pair chose home Home Depot for their early-morning assignation. Craig lives about four miles from the store, while Bowden’s home is eight miles away from the retailer.
