'Ugly' Egyptian woman kills daughters4:15:36 PM
An Egyptian woman killed her two daughters and set fire to her flat because her husband kept calling her ugly, police said today.
Iman Mohammed Hassan, 33, slashed both her eight and six-year-old daughters’ throats with a knife before setting fire to the family’s Cairo apartment.
After neighbours pulled her from the burning building, she told police she killed her daughters and started the fire to get back at her husband for repeatedly calling her ugly and for encouraging the girls to call her crazy.
She said her husband had refused to grant her a divorce, adding that she would not hesitate to kill him too, officers said.
Her husband collapsed when he returned home to find the flat burned out and his daughters dead. He was in stable condition in a hospital today and reconsidering the whole divorce thing.
