In some of the most disturbing video footage from the U.S. invasion of Iraq, the following segment, filmed in 2007, illustrates how war and killing becomes only a game, to be laughed about, joked about and generally treated as a source of amusement by the killers. The neutralization of language to lessen the impact of shooting other humans is nowhere more evident than in calling shooting unknown individuals "engaging" the enemy. Request permission to murder becomes request permission to engage in military-speak.
Special warning! The images displayed in the following video may be disturbing to some individuals. Witnessing mass murder is not a pleasant experience.
